Top Albums 2015

12. Between the Buried and Me - Coma Ecliptic (Progressive Metal)

Not their heaviest album, but one that focuses on precision and great songwriting. For once we aren't bowled away by brutal riff after brutal riff; rather, breathing, original melodies are highlighted throughout.

11. Desaparecidos - Payola (Political Emo Punk)

Non-boring Conor Oberst. Shaking voices convey emotion. Better sound quality than the first.

10. Jeff Rosenstock - We Cool? (Poppy Punk Rock)

Catchy. Poppy. Experienced. Hilarious. Variety and excellence in every track.

9. New Design - Far From Home (Emo Rock)

Shout out to a great band from Brampton, ON, who deliver catchy melodies you'll feel like singing along to when you see them live with my band Riverbeds in 2016.

8. Citizen - Everybody is Going to Heaven (Grunge Revival)

Man are the 90s ever coming back. And it's awesome.

7. Galaxie - Zulu (Blues qui danse / mongole à la guitare)

Un bon mélange entre Tigre et Diesel et le vieux stock. Des grooves juste parfaits. Moins de solos remarquables, mais les riffs compensent.

6. Superheaven - Ours Is Chrome (Grunge Revival)

Man are the 90s ever coming back. And it's awesome.

5. mewithoutYou - Pale Horses (Post-Hardcore / Art Rock)

Shaking voices convey emotion. Beautiful, complex songwriting.

4. La Querelle - Home, A Beautiful Place to Get Lost (Emo / Post)

Shaking voices convey emotion. Great follow-up record from a great Montreal-area band that you should seriously check out. Bro love. <3

3. Make Do and Mend - Don't Be Long (Punk rock)

Straight up, heart-on-your-sleeve great punk rock. Rough voices and great guitar leads.

2. Delta Sleep - Twin Galaxies (Math)

This would be number one if I hadn't gotten into it only 4 days ago.

1. Pet Symmetry - Pets Hounds (Emo / Punk Rock)

Everything Evan Thomas Weiss (Into It. Over It., Their / They're / There) touches is gold. Beautiful lyrics, catchy melodies.
